Welcome to BOOM! Dance Studio! Below you will find answers to your frequently asked questions about class attire, shoes, and studio expectations.
What Should I Wear To Dance Class?
We do not have a strict dress code, but dancers are encouraged to wear:
Leotards with tights and ballet skirts.
Comfortable clothing such as leggings and fitted shirts.
Please Note:
No booty shorts or crop tops are permitted on children.
Hair must be pulled back and remain up for safety and focus.
Clothing should allow for a full range of motion. Please no denim.
Are Specific Shoes Required For Certain Classes?
Yes, footwear varies by class:
Parent + TOT, Tiny Dancer, Mini Dancer, Mini Graduate, Lyrical, and BarreX require ballet shoes. We suggest a canvas split sole ballet slipper.
Adults order your street shoe size.
Children order one full size up from street size.
Jazz require black jazz shoes.
ACRO and Contemporary are danced in bare feet.
Adult Hip Hop require white and silver performance sneakers.
Ordered through the studio for performers.
HEELS Von Teese require dance heels or ballet slippers.
Dance heels MUST have suede or rubber soles and never have been worn outdoors to protect our Marley floor.
Preferred: Open Toe, lace-up Latin style.
Also accepted: Character or strappy ballroom heels.
What Else To Bring?
Bring your own water bottle - Staying hydrated is important!
Please label all belongings with your name.
What Are Your Behavior and Safety Expectations?
At BOOM! Dance Studio we are committed to creating a respectful, safe, and inclusive environment for everyone. We expect all dancers and families to follow these certain core values:
Respect each other - kindness and teamwork are expected at all times.
Respect your instructors - listen actively, follow directions, and give your best effort.
Respect our studio - keep spaces clean, handle equipment carefully, and avoid disruptive behavior.
Failure to follow these expectations may result in warning or dismissal, at instructors discretion.
Wear Can I Find Recommended Shoes?
Dance shoes can be found online through suppliers such as discountenance.com and AMAZON. For Hip Hop or HEELS shoes, please email us directly to order or for recommendations.
